Her work

"Everything is a theme," she postulates.

"There are no boundaries on what can be expressed through art, In fact, the very divergence of her subject matter serves to underscore her message that one should be open to the whole of life.

But where content varies, technique is constant for behind each painting's blithe interplay, of abstract images lies the deft hand of precision.

The freedom of movement inherent: in Elimar's brushwork is, in fact, a meticulously studied mobility whose inspirational muse is derived from the discipline of ballet.

Also apparent at times in Elimar's work are vestiges of her father's graphic art trade, evidenced by the occasional use of pictograph within highly orga-nised spatial relationships.

The major influences on her work, however, have been lent by the masters Van Gogh, Rodin and Duchamp whose combined styles blend with Elimar's own creative talent.

About Elimar

Elimar in one of those rare individuals with an expressive and distinctive musical talent matched by an equally accomplished artistic style, the two elements often complimenting each other in her work.

Displaying a healthy disregard for the whims of fashion, much of Elimar's music and painting is an abstract and idiosyncratic exploration of her personal response to subject matter and events, many of the paintings representing elements contained within her songs. ' My visual and artistic expressions come from the same internal energy', explains Elimar. An unusual combination, perhaps? ' I don't know whether it's unusual or not - for me they're just part of the same thing':

Although most of her performances and exhibitions have so far been staged on Ibiza, the island on which she has made her base, Elimar's work is already represented in private collections worldwide. Art critic Emily Kaufman commented on Elimar's work: ' A kaleidoscope of ever-changing life impressions, cultural influx and emotional fine tuning. On both the music and art fronts Elimar is a name to watch out for in the future'.

Beginning her career as an artist, Elimar stumbled upon her musical talent by accident after being handed the microphone at a late night jam session.

'I had been writing songs and singing for years, not dreaming anyone would want to hear me. I was in an Ibiza Jazz/blues club and one of the musicians talked me into it". The response was remarkable, leading to a string of dates all over Ibiza, but more importantly encouraging Elimar to explore her musical talent and discover her own musical identity
